               There is so much going on in the world right now and so much uneasiness with how things are going to be paid.  We understand that you may be affected by this coronavirus in some way and that it may in fact affect your ability to pay rent in the coming month. We are here to help you get through this truly difficult and crazy time. 

                Thankfully, the federal government has stepped up and said it plans to offer a cash payment to all citizens to offset the financial burden being imposed right now.  We want to emphasize, no matter what is going on in the world right now, your rent is still due as agreed! We have plans in place to work with tenants who can't pay all of their rent but your rent is still due.  We strongly suggest you take the stimulus money and pay your rent for at least 2 months in advance to make sure you have a roof over your head during these difficult times.  We are a small local company and we are impacted by this virus as are all of you; rest assured, if you don't pay rent, the bank will take the property and nobody will win in this scenario.  

                 Local big name stores like Sam's Club, United, WalMart, Home Depot and Lowes are hiring right now; if you were laid off look into these companies for work, they’re good places to work and pay very well.  Many are offering huge cash bonuses as well right now. If you don't have cash but have a credit card and want to pay rent that way, we have a system for that. Normally it charges you a fee to use but we will pay the fee if you decide to pay that way during the next 2 months.  Please contact Chelsea immediately if you want to use this as it takes a few days to set up. We will need a current email address to start the set up. This doesn’t apply to renters that already have this set up and pay with this already. 

                Furthermore, tenants can apply for unemployment and receive assistance immediately from what I am told.  Please contact us early on if you will need assistance in the upcoming months. You can still expect us to place 3 day notices and file for evictions in accordance with our lease and the state of Texas.  In addition, the toilet paper fiasco may have impacted you as well. Remember that ONLY toilet paper is to be flushed down a toilet. If we send a plumber to clear your sewer and anything but toilet paper is removed YOU will be billed for the cost of the plumber ($179 per occurrence).  

                Maintenance calls will be restricted to true emergencies during this time to do our best to follow social distancing rules set forth by the CDC.  If it's something small and simple you can fix on your own, we encourage you to fix it yourself. We don't know how long this will last but we do know if everyone does their part we will weather this storm and will return to offering an exceptional housing experience. Stay safe everyone!
